Don’t you just hate it when someone doubts that you can do something or places limitations on you before they even know who you are? Or worse yet, when we place limitations on ourselves. Now, imagine being your child who has a disability. They’re already told in school that they are “special” and perhaps go through each day struggling from moment to moment trying to make sense of what they’re being asked to do and learn, compounded by very confusing social situations.
I am so fortunate to be part of the Autism Society of Florida. This group consists of people with autism and family members who work so hard every day to bring about change for those across the state of Florida who have autism and the families who love them and the people who support and protect them. One of the ASF projects that I am most proud of is the new No Limits Global streaming program. In this program, we hope to break down barriers, expose hidden strengths and encourage people with autism and our communities to reach beyond limitations imposed by others.
Through the development of this program, we have the opportunity to hear from the most incredible experts in autism that exist. We have super-stars like Temple Grandin, researchers like Ami Klin whose research recently appeared on Good Morning America, Brenda Myles who is no doubt one of the world’s most sought-after autism presenters, Paula Tallal who invented Fast Forward, creatives like Pixar animator of Loop, Erica Milsom, and SO MUCH more!
This platform has something for everyone!! There’s a section specifically for parents and people with autism, another for medical professionals (who doesn’t have a doctor or dentist that doesn’t need more autism training?), first responders, swim instructors and the BIG one, Teachers. Yes, we knew we had to have a section for educators, if for no other reason than one in every thirty-six kids has autism. There is statistically NO WAY that every teacher doesn’t need autism training!
The beauty in this program is that new videos will come out each month, so there will always be fresh material with more to learn. Since it’s a global project, we have speakers from literally all over the world, and as we go, we’ll include more and more in hopes that we can learn how different cultures look at autism and how we can do a better job here at home.

We hope that you will share this email with those you know and help us to spread the word so that more people can have greater access to the experts that can help change their lives and shape the world into one where ”No Limits” exist on what we can achieve!
Warmest
Stacey
